The VAREP Training Institute (VTI) develops, delivers, and administers VAREP’s education, training, mentorship, and credentialing programs, including the MVPro™ Designation and BOOTS2 Learning Pathways, for housing professionals and the military-connected community.

- Core Course Fee: $299.00 per course. Certificate provided upon successful completion.
- Core Course Bundle: A six- Core Course Bundle available at $899 for agent, Lender, Counselor, and Related Professionals.
- Courses Delivery: Online learning platform and/or live in-person trainings throughout the year.
- VTI online courses are professionally accredited by VAREP. These courses are for professional development and do not count toward state real estate license renewal (CE) requirements.
- Select in-person VTI courses may be offered as CE for real estate agents in approved states.

Courses are available through the VTI online platform. You can browse and enroll directly through the course portal located in the Member’s Area.

Complaints are acknowledged within 3 business days, with a target resolution of 30 days when practicable.
Yes. Written appeals may be submitted according to VAREP policy. Appeal decisions are final.

- Partial refunds may apply only in specific early cancellation scenarios
- No refunds are issued 30 days after CE requirement deadline or for disciplinary actions
While many credentials exist (MRP, CVLS, AMP/CMB, HUD Housing Counselor Certification), none provide a unified military-focused framework with required continuing education, recertification, and accountability across professional roles. MVPro™ was created to close that gap.
The MVPro™ (Military Community Specialist) Designation sets the professional standard for housing professionals serving the military-connected community. Designees complete Core Course education, pass a certification exam, maintain annual continuing education, uphold professional ethics standards, and recertify every three years.

Eligibility and Requirements
- VAREP National Core Members with a Housing Professional Subscription.
- Select a MVPro™ Track and complete required Core Course track education (six course courses)
- Apply for the “MVPro Subscription”.
- Upon acceptance, pay the $299 onetime application fee and $100 for the MVPro Exam Prep and Exam Fee.
- All core course work must be completed no longer than 12 months prior to the MVPro application and onboarding.
Ongoing MVPro Designation requirements
- Two (2) Annual CE Courses @ $79 per course.
- 3-year Recertification exam @ $149 recertification fee.
MVPro Listing Database – Optional
Upon achieving the MVPro™ Designation, you may choose to be listed on the consumer “MVPro Listing Database” @ $30 annually.
Yes. VTI Core & CE courses can be taken for learning or applied to the MVPro™ Designation credentialing program.
No. MVPro™ is not a government program and does not represent endorsement by HUD, VA, DoD, or any federal or state agency.
No. MVPro™ complements—not replaces— your existing license or certification (outside of VAREP) by adding military and veteran cultural competency, VA program knowledge, and ongoing accountability.
Only while your MVPro subscription status is Active.
No. It does not guarantee income, referrals, or outcomes.

Courses may be delivered through: online, live virtual instruction, and in-person classes. Not all courses are available in all formats.
Yes. Each designation track includes required exams.
A minimum score of 80% is required.
- One immediate retake is allowed
- After a second failure, a 24-hour wait is required
- Maximum of three attempts per course or exam
- Two (2) CE courses annually @ $79 per course. Certificate provided upon successful completion
- CE Course Eligibility: Must be a VAREP National Core Member with a Military Community or Housing Professional
- Subscription, AND taken a minimum of one VTI Core Course to access CE library.
The MVPro CE course are part of the VTI library of continuing education courses designed to expand knowledge, strengthen skills, and support lifelong professional development. Sample Topics: VA Home Loan Specialty Programs, Housing Counseling, Financial Wellness, Military Culture, Fair Housing, Homeownership Education, Leadership, Ethics, and other emerging industry topics.
If you do not complete your annual MVPro™ Continuing Education (CE) requirements by the deadline, your MVPro™ status will be changed to Inactive.
To request reinstatement, you must contact the VAREP Training Institute by phone or email. If your request is approved:
- Your MVPro™ subscription will be reinstated with a 30-day grace period to complete your required CE.
- If your CE requirements are completed within the grace period, your MVPro™ status will return to Active.
- If your CE requirements are not completed within the 30-day grace period, your MVPro™ subscription will be cancelled without refund, and you will be required to reapply for MVPro™ certification.
Yes. All MVPro™ designations require recertification every three (3) years from designation completion date.
